How to simplify participation in EU-funded projects? Have your say!

31 January 2018

EUA is calling on its members to share ideas on how to make the administration of EU-funded research projects more efficient and less complex, time-consuming and costly.

The EUA survey on simplification of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation will help prepare EUA’s response to the Commission stakeholder consultation on EU funds in the area of investment, research & innovation, SMEs and single market. The results of the survey will also support EUA’s broader set of activities and current discussions with EU institutions on how to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the 9th Framework Programme (FP9), the successor to Horizon 2020.

This EUA survey is designed to follow up on the EUA member consultation on the Horizon 2020 mid-term review. It aims at collecting specific evidence on possible ways to further simplify universities’ participation in FP9 and limit any potential “unintended consequences” of the recent changes in the Model Grant Agreement (e.g. introduction of lump sums, cascade funding). The survey focuses on several issues under the overall area of simplification, particularly the acceptance of institutional and national accounting and management practices.

The deadline to complete the survey has been extended to 16 February 2018.
