Due to the high interest in the first workshop of this series and given the critical importance of the topic, this workshop is open to both EUA members and universities that are not EUA members, provided their National Rectors’ Conference is a member of the Association.
The second workshop on the initiative to reform research assessment will take place on 28 June 2022, 11.00-13.00 CEST.
Reviewing research assessment, as part of a reform of academic careers, is a priority for the European University Association. As such, EUA participates in an initiative to reform research assessment initiated by the European Commission. The guiding aim of this initiative is to bring together a coalition of organisations committed to implementing reforms to current research assessment practices. In this context, EUA is part of a drafting group to develop an agreement on reforming research assessment.
In this second workshop, EUA will present a near-final version of the agreement, as well as proposed conditions for the creation of a coalition. Future steps in the process of research assessment reform will also be outlined. Participants will have the opportunity to provide input and share their impressions in a Q&A session followed by active discussions in breakout groups.
The workshop will be of interest to institutional leaders, including rectors, vice-rectors and senior managers, as well as academic staff members in charge of research assessment and doctoral education. Members of the academic community, including researchers at all seniority levels, will also benefit from attending the workshop series.
