Inspireurope+ webinar series (I)

8 December 2022, 14.00 CET

The European University Association (EUA) is pleased to present a five-part webinar series as part of the Inspireurope+ project (September 2022 - September 2025), which aims to strengthen and coordinate support for researchers at risk across Europe. This first webinar targeted higher education institutions interested in offering remote fellowships to researchers at risk.

Remote fellowships are often used as a complement or alternative to hosting at-risk scholars on campus. These schemes are relevant for scholars that for various reasons cannot travel and for institutions without the possibility to provide an academic sanctuary on campus.

This webinar introduced several initiatives on remote fellowships with different scopes and approaches. The webinar also offered the possibility to discuss the benefits and challenges of remote fellowships.

Speakers:

Alison Morrisroe, Policy and Project Officer, EUA
Dr Jennifer Straub, Faculty of Education, Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada
Dr Florian Kohstall, Academics in Solidarity, Center for International Cooperation, Freie Universität Berlin, Germany
