IEP membership in ENQA reconfirmed

01 March 2019

EUA’s Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) underwent an external review coordinated by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) in 2018. As a result, on 21 February, the ENQA Board reconfirmed IEP’s membership for the next five years.

The ENQA review panel assessed IEP compliance against the 2015 Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). The review process was based on IEP’s self-assessment report, other supporting materials, and a site visit of the ENQA appointed review panel. The panel found that thanks to its atypical philosophy and fitness for purpose approach, which is at the very heart of its methodology, IEP as a European quality assurance agency is very valuable.

IEP is an independent external quality assurance agency, which has carried out 430 initial and follow-up evaluations of diverse higher education institutions in Europe and worldwide. IEP has been listed in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) since 2011. The registrations for the next IEP evaluation round will be open in March.
