RItrainPlus: new programme for gaining competencies in leading research infrastructures

20 October 2021

The Research Infrastructure Training Programme (RItrainPlus) is a Horizon 2020-funded project by the European Commission, with the aim to set up a European School for Research Infrastructure (RI) management.

Current and future managers of RIs (European Research Infrastructures) and CFs (Core Facilities) need multiple specific competencies to lead their organisations. As a result, training and retaining the high-level staff necessary for the successful operation and long-term sustainability of such institutions has been recognised as a priority by many stakeholders. To answer this need, RItrainPlus will develop a new programme.

This project brings together European universities with RIs and CFs to “design an entirely new training track”, says Professor Marialuisa Lavitrano, leader of the RItrainPlus project. Eventually, the goal is to offer students digitally certified learning activities and modules which can be delivered by any European University, using teachers’ kits.

For more information, you can access the project website or directly contact Professor Paolo Cherubini.
