ESFRI Roadmap 2021 on Research Infrastructures

11 October 2019

ESFRI, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures, has launched a two-year process to complete its Roadmap 2021 Update. The update will focus on the inclusion of new research infrastructure projects and the evolution of research infrastructures already on the roadmap.

The ESFRI Roadmap contains European science facilities of pan-European interest based on a thorough evaluation and selection procedure, which is now open to the submission of new proposals. The document also describes the broader landscape of research in Europe.

The current update focuses on the clustering of research infrastructures, their horizontal linkages and the projection of the Open Science concept. It also addresses the growing demand to focus on social and global challenges that are reflected in the Sustainable Development Goals.

Proposals for the 2021 update must be sent by 5 May 2020.
