FAIRsFAIR-CODATA-RDA Data Steward Training series

The FAIRsFAIR project, in partnership with the CODATA-RDA schools, is organising a Data Steward training series to help Data Stewards provide the best support and guidance to researchers, equipping them with the foundational skills of Research Data Science and a solid grounding in responsible research practices.

In the upcoming months, two training workshops will be organised as part of the series:

• FAIRsFAIR, EOSC-Pillar, EOSC-Synergy and Ghent University Instructor Training Workshop, on 7, 9 and 11 June 2021
• FAIRsFAIR, EOSC-Synergy and NORF Data Steward Instructor Training, on 12, 14 and 16 July 2021

The training workshops aim at introducing participants to the key concepts and drivers for Open Science, Research Data Management (RDM) and FAIR data, to consider the existing local support service they can leverage and to identify areas where collaboration with peer institutions on support provision will be beneficial.

The trainings will allow participants to explore key concepts and practices in Research Data Management (RDM), FAIR and Open Data, as well as their political and institutional drivers. At the end of each workshop, participants will gain a better understanding of the range of skills and knowledge associated with data stewardship and they will also be able to develop training courses to be run at their own institution using open learning resources.

FAIRsFAIR, EOSC-Pillar, EOSC-Synergy and Ghent University Instructor Training Workshop
7, 9, and 11 June 2021

FAIRsFAIR, EOSC-Pillar and Ghent University will deliver a three-days train-the-trainer workshop to support the development of data stewardship skills among staff in universities and other research institutions in Belgium. A key aim of this workshop is to foster a network of peers where those with more experience can share their knowledge with those just getting started.

FAIRsFAIR, EOSC-Synergy and NORF Data Steward Instructor Training
12, 14 and 16 July 2021

FAIRsFAIR, EOSC Synergy and Ireland’s National Open Research Forum (NORF) will deliver a three day instructor training workshop to support the development of data stewardship skills among staff in higher education institutions and other research performing organisations in Ireland. A key aim of this workshop is to empower a network of peers where best practices are exchanged and where those with more experience can share their knowledge with those just getting started.

Participation in this workshop is by invitation only, with the aim of bringing together a network of peers from a broad range of institutions across Ireland. Please find more information, including programme and speakers, on the event page.
