EUA Learning & Teaching Steering Committee welcomes new members

19 February 2020

The 2020 European Learning & Teaching Forum, which took place on 13-14 February and welcomed 250 participants at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, also marked the last event at which the current eight members of the EUA Learning & Teaching Steering Committee were gathered.

The term of four committee members – Paolo Cherubini from the University of Milano-Bicocca, Jolanta Choińska-Mika from the University of Warsaw, Riitta Pyykkö from the University of Turku and Oliver Vettori from the Vienna University of Economics and Business – ends this month. EUA thanks them for their commitment and highly valued contributions throughout the past years.

Four new members will begin their mandate on 1 March: Romita Iucu from the University of Bucharest, Manel Jiménez Morales from the Pompeu Fabra University – Barcelona, Marja Sutela from Tampere University and Marta Žuvić from the University of Rijeka. Together with the other committee members Michael Murphy from University College Cork (the committee’s chair and EUA President), Ian Dunn from Coventry University, Kornelia Freitag from Ruhr University Bochum and Nina de Winter from the European Students’ Union (ESU), they will provide oversight and guidance to EUA’s Learning & Teaching activities. This covers, among other things, the 2020 EUA Learning & Teaching Thematic Peer Groups and the 2021 European Learning & Teaching Forum, hosted by the University of Deusto in Spain on 18-19 February, which will partly draw on the work of the 2020 Thematic Peer Groups.
