Higher Education Supporting Refugees in Europe

Throughout Europe, higher education institutions are supporting refugees, as showcased by EUA’s Refugees Welcome Map. Data collected in this inventory of initiatives has been the basis for inHERE: Higher Education Supporting Refugees in Europe.

The project aims at addressing higher education access and integration issues of refugees in Europe. An analysis of good practices on EUA’s Refugees Welcome Map lay ground for the development of training events and support tools for university staff, such as a set of guidelines for higher education institutions aiming to enhance their efforts in integrating refugees into their programmes.

The two-year project is funded by the European Union (September 2016-September 2018) through the Erasmus+ programme’s Key Action 2 - Strategic Partnerships. It is coordinated by UNIMED (Italy), and partners include EUA, Sapienza University (Italy), University of Barcelona (Spain), Campus France (France). The UNHCR is an associate partner.

Further information on the project and its outputs are available on the project website
