Developing pathways to achieve the vision: leadership workshop series

Over the first half of 2021, EUA will organise a series of online workshops for university leaders to discuss scenarios and pathways for universities in the next decade. The new EUA publication “Universities without walls – A vision for 2030”, will be at the centre of the debate.

The workshops will focus on three major external drivers of transformation and their potential developments in regard to universities: changes in geopolitics; artificial intelligence and its impact on labour markets and society, and threats to European democracy.

For each workshop, there will be input from external experts regarding possible future scenarios in the respective area. Workshop participants will discuss the potential impact of these scenarios on the higher education and research sector. The aim is to gather ideas for possible future pathways of universities to achieve the vision given that external developments. The outcomes will feed into a publication foreseen for autumn this year. The publication is intended to give universities food for thought and inspiration for their strategic development.
