AR25
Automatic Recognition in the European Education Area 2025The AR25 project aims to support the implementation of the Council (of the European Union) Recommendation on promoting automatic mutual recognition of qualifications and learning periods abroad and achieve automatic recognition by 2025. It does so through the following activities:
- Bringing institutional recognition procedures in line with the principles of the Lisbon Recognition Convention through the promotion of the self-assessment tool “Improved recognition”, which was developed through the EUA-coordinated and Erasmus+ funded “Spotlight on recognition” project (2020-2022);
- Supporting (future work on) the recognition of study periods in upper secondary education via a mapping of national arrangements in recognition and identifying challenges and areas for improvement;
- Building capacity among higher education institutions on how to evaluate micro-credentials, including on automatic recognition and by updating the Micro-evaluator app, which facilitates the evaluation and recognition of micro-credentials;
- Updating the European Area of Recognition Manual for Higher Education Institutions (EAR -HEI) to support streamlining of recognition practices.
Target groups of the AR25 project are: higher education institutions, ENIC-NARIC centres, stakeholders in recognition in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and European Education Area (quality assurance organisations, rectors conferences, etc.), stakeholders in mobility in upper secondary education.
The AR25 project is co-funded by Erasmus+ and coordinated by Nuffic. The consortium also includes the following partners:
