EUA 25th Anniversary

This year marks a quarter of a century since universities across Europe and their national associations decided to create the European University Association to unify the voice of the sector.

On Thursday 29 October, representatives of EUA and key partners will gather in the centre of Brussels to look back on 25 years of the Association’s impact and influence on the European stage, and look ahead to what the next 25 may hold for the university sector. The day's activities will be organised as two separate events.

An evening celebration at the Comic Art Museum Brussels will feature a panel discussion on key moments that have shaped higher education and research in Europe over the last two and a half decades, as well as a walking dinner.
Earlier in the day, key figures who have shaped EUA’s journey, as well as policy makers and fellow stakeholders, will join us to discuss topics that have been central to EUA’s work for the past quarter century. This one-day conference, ‘25 years of shaping European higher education and research: impact, influence and the road ahead’, will take place at the Royal Library of Belgium.

Registration to these events is upon invitation only, however select sessions will be live streamed for EUA’s membership. Information on this will follow shortly.
