Universities are important actors in the green transition, as providers and disseminators of knowledge and large-scale economic actors, and must therefore integrate sustainability reporting into their strategy.
This webinar, designed specifically for universities, will address the evolving landscape of sustainability reporting and what it means for the higher education sector in Europe.
In 2023, the EU passed a new piece of legislation establishing environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting requirements for organisations. This Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), while not applying to public universities, is expected to impact thousands of organisations. The goal of the directive is to increase trust and transparency and demonstrate the financial relevance of information about sustainability.
In their collaboration with various partners, whether public or private, as well as in their communication with society, universities have an interest in structuring and developing sustainability reports. During this webinar, participants will hear from university leaders actively engaged in sustainability reporting. The panel will discuss benefits, challenges and opportunities of sustainability reporting for universities, while EUA will also share relevant preliminary findings from the Association’s ongoing survey on sustainability and greening.
