The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) have just published a comprehensive update to the MSCA Green Charter.

It sets out non-binding principles and recommendations to help integrate environmental sustainability in research practices and research settings, while maintaining the excellence and freedom of scientific inquiry. Two guidance documents accompany the Charter, offering concrete recommendations, examples and tools to support researchers and organisations in aligning their research practices with sustainability goals.

These documents were elaborated by the European Commission in a collaborative effort which involved sustained contributions from EUA together with other umbrella organisations, alongside several sustainability experts, university representatives, researchers and research managers. The aim of this collaboration was to ensure that the MSCA Green Charter and its guiding documents are truly useful to the people and organisations willing to use it on the ground to embed sustainability in research environments.
