A call for applications for a European University Association task-and-finish group on sustainability is now open.
Over the last decade, universities across Europe have been increasingly engaged with sustainability-related topics. Universities consider themselves to be key actors, acknowledging their social responsibility to drive change within and beyond their campuses. With the conclusion of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development rapidly approaching, critical questions emerge: how will the future of sustainability be shaped in the coming decade? How can universities contribute to a new agenda?
In response to these questions and to build on EUA’s work on sustainability, the Association has decided to establish a new task-and-finish group. Through foresight methodologies and future-oriented perspectives, members of the group will actively contribute to building future scenarios for universities and sustainability. In particular, they will explore pathways beyond the 2030 Agenda, developing strategies to ensure that universities remain key contributors in shaping the development of a sustainable future over the next decade.
Further information on the remit, composition and working modes of the group are outlined in the full call for applications. Interested candidates, who fulfil the criteria listed in the call document, are invited to outline their motivation for applying and upload a CV detailing relevant experience via the application form.
