The DIGI-REQA project aims to enhance automatic recognition practices across Europe, specifically through a focus on improving the use of digital tools and links between recognition practices and quality assurance.

By leveraging innovative digital solutions and fostering transnational collaboration, the DIGI-REQA project seeks to:

  • enhance the operationalisation of the Benelux-Baltic Multilateral Treaty on Automatic Recognition of Qualifications and the AR-go tool created to support the Treaty;
  • explore and align digital tools instrumental to achieving automatic recognition;
  • strengthen the role of quality assurance in enabling automatic recognition.

The project also aims to foster the integration of micro-credentials and joint degrees into recognition frameworks. Ultimately, DIGI-REQA envisions a more transparent, efficient and user-friendly recognition system that aligns with the goals of the European Education Area and promotes greater mobility and trust across borders.

The project runs from August 2025 until July 2027.

The DIGI-REQA project will carry out:

  • An assessment of the Benelux-Baltic Treaty’s impact, followed by the development of recommendations for its further implementation;
  • A review and update of the AR-go tool, connecting it with the Database of External Quality Assurance Results (DEQAR);
  • An assessment of currently available tools that have the potential to support automatic recognition and an exploration of ways to make these tools more interoperable;
  • The development of recommendations on how data provision can be improved to advance automatic recognition, especially with regard to joint degrees and micro-credentials;
  • The development of a position paper with guidance on how to better link recognition and quality assurance, followed by a peer-learning seminar.

These activities and their outcomes will be of interest to ENIC-NARIC offices, quality assurance agencies, higher education institutions, students and labour market representatives.

The DIGI-REQA project is co-funded by Erasmus+ and coordinated by SKVC, the Lithuanian Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education. EUA is part the project’s Steering Committee, while the consortium also includes the following partners:
