How do we ensure that academia remains an attractive and sustainable professional pathway in the long term?

The European University Association recently published five key principles that aim to provide essential guidance to institutional leaders, as well as anyone who has a role to play in shaping academic careers.

In this article, EUA’s Helene Peterbauer reflects on why academic careers are receiving more attention of late, including from policy makers, outlines why there is need for urgent action within universities and describes how EUA’s key principles can help to set this in motion.
