EUA has launched its 2019 Open Science and Access survey on the topic of research assessment. The aim of this consultation is to gather a comprehensive overview of research evaluation methods developed and implemented by European universities.
Research assessment has become a central concern in academia and among policymakers. Universities and other stakeholders are increasingly concerned about current approaches to research evaluation and their negative effects and are thus starting to engage in discussions on more accurate, transparent and responsible approaches to research assessment.
EUA is involved in these discussions. In the EUA Roadmap on Research Assessment in the Transition to Open Science, the Association commits to raise awareness and support universities in the improvement of research assessment approaches that focus on research quality, potential and future impact, and which take into account Open Science practices.
The survey can be accessed by following this link or by copying and pasting the link directly into your web browser: https://eua.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_czNnvZ3r7rr1SyF. The survey form should be filled out by the people or departments closely involved in developing and implementing research assessment in the university. However, please note that only one response per institution should be submitted. The survey deadline is 25 May 2019.
EUA looks forward to your collaboration, thus contributing evidence of European universities’ experiences with research assessment and strengthening the voice of universities in European policy making.
