2024 Erasmus+ call for European Universities alliances

12 October 2023

On 3 October, the European Commission launched the 2024 Erasmus+ call for European Universities alliances. The aim is to reach the political goal of 60 alliances with more than 500 higher education institutions by 2024.

Currently there are 50 alliances involving more than 430 higher education institutions. Beyond this, the call also provides the opportunity for setting up a Community of Practice for alliances. The aim is to enable alliances to come together to share good practices and experiences about topics of importance to them (e.g. through knowledge sharing on relevant academic, pedagogical, and administrative matters, for example linked to student and staff mobility, joint educational opportunities, pedagogical innovation, societal outreach, digitalisation, sustainability or governance) as well as for the benefit of the wider higher education sector.

Overall, the call comes with a total budget of €189,2 million (including € 187.7 Mio. for new alliances and € 1.5 Mio. for the Community of Practice). The deadline for application is 6 February 2024. Selection results are expected for early summer 2024 with projects starting in autumn 2024 for a duration of four years.
