Survey on Entrepreneurship Education Programmes in Higher Education

02 October 2018

The European Commission aims to develop a tool to assess the impact of entrepreneurship education programmes on higher education and is calling for participation in a survey which will form the basis of this project.

The overall aim of the project is to emancipate European citizens, stimulate skills, attitudes and mind-set development towards a flexible and pro-active stance to entrepreneurial thinking and behaviour. The development of entrepreneurial skills, also as part of a wider set of skills in the 21st century, is of vital importance for Europe, and therefore the EC seeks to identify, monitor and evaluate existing projects/activities which contribute to that development.

A consortium under the lead of Ecorys is performing a study that identifies and categorises existing entrepreneurship education programmes as well as their results (impacts):

  1. A survey
  2. A pilot
  3. The final online tool

Participation in the survey will form the basis of an online tool that helps to ‘pick’ the right kind of assessment method(s), in terms of design, intended impact, target group or content of programme.

Educators of entrepreneurship education programmes can access the survey aimed at them.

The survey only takes a few minutes to complete (around 8 minutes). Educators at universities are also invited to circulate a student survey among students of the entrepreneurship education programmes/modules/courses at their institution. The survey is geared towards students who have already followed entrepreneurship education programmes in some form: second, third- or fourth-year bachelor students, or master (or doctoral) students who have previously followed an entrepreneurship education programme.

The study is being conducted by a consortium, led by Ecorys, with support from the Danish Foundation for Entrepreneurship, the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship, Technopolis Group and the J. J. Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Economics.
