Call for tender of the European Parliament: 4-year framework contract to establish the Monetary Policy Expert Panel

The European Parliament has launched a call for tender for the award a maximum of 10 separate framework contracts to establish the next Monetary Policy Expert Panel for the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.


The future members of the Panel will have to opportunity to engage directly with MEPs, other leading monetary policy experts and monetary policymakers, contributing to strengthening the democratic accountability of the European Central Bank (ECB). Members of the Monetary Policy Expert Panel would be requested to provide independent expert advice mostly in the form of papers ahead of the Monetary Dialogues with the ECB President and oral presentations. Other forms of limited input might also be requested.

Minimum requirements:

  • At least two persons should be proposed as the core team that would form part of the Monetary Policy Expert Panel.
  • At least one person – the lead expert – must have a PhD in economics or related field and professional and/or academic experience of a minimum of seven (7) years in one of the following areas: macroeconomics, monetary economics, financial economics, international economics and European economic and monetary integration.

The deadline for submitting tenders for this 4-year contract is 15 April 2024 at 17:00 CET.
