This research deals with analyzing trends in quality enhancement, pronged challenges and internal breakthrough for holistic quality enhancement in Ethiopian Public Universities.

Trends will be looked into from the standpoint of the existing experiences in the last five years. Challenges will be treated from individual, institutional and managerial reference points that will encompass the pillars and the supportive wings. Descriptive survey design will be used to give shape to the study. Data will be collected from directors, units, colleges and service sections of six selected universities. Multistage sampling will be employed in identifying the institutional samples whereas stratified random sampling and purposive sampling will be used to identify samples among the staff members. By and large, only staff members actively engaging in their duties will be data-providers. Data will also be secured from student representatives. Instruments of data collection will be key informant interview guides, document checklist and questionnaires.
