Today the European University Association (EUA), which represents more than 850 universities and national rectors’ conferences in 48 European countries, stands in solidarity with the university students and staff of Ukraine as well as with the entire population of the country. EUA is shocked by the recent invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation and condemns this aggression in the strongest possible terms.
The Association is in contact with its 26 Ukrainian members and will provide any support possible at this difficult and distressing time. EUA is also in the process of liaising with its wide member- and partnership to identify coordinated and effective ways to support the Ukrainian university sector in its missions.
Along with its many member universities and sister organisations across Europe, EUA is fully committed to peaceful co-operation, mutual understanding, and tolerance across borders. In this spirit and despite the grim situation, EUA continues to hope for reflection, restraint, and a swift end to the crisis.
